Hanging a chandelier in the right place makes all the difference: too high, it loses its presence; too low, it obstructs the view at the table. Here's the simple rule of thumb to know.
The basic rule
For a standard ceiling (around 2.50 m), allow 70 to 80 cm between the bottom of the chandelier and the tabletop. This height allows the light to diffuse without ever dazzling diners seated opposite each other.
Adjust according to your ceiling
Each additional meter of ceiling height adds approximately 7 to 10 cm to this distance. In a double-height room or a stairwell, a large chandelier like Cangiante or Bruma can hang much lower to fully occupy the volume.
The role of the adjustable chain
Most of our chandeliers come with an adjustable suspension chain, often up to 100 cm. This allows the same fixture to be adapted to very different ceiling heights, without having to change the light fixture.
What about a kitchen island?
Allow 75 to 90 cm above the worktop, ensuring that the chandelier does not exceed the width of the island to maintain correct proportions.
